A bit about our school
Hillside is a Special School & College for children and young adults with autism. Today we have 108 students ranging from age 4 to 18 years. We encourage a happy and professional culture and always seek highly energetic and motivated staff who embrace challenge.
A bit about the job
We are employing our own established team of cleaners, and we would like to have a bank of Casual staff who would be able to step in, sometimes at late notice, to support and work with the existing team. Duties will include:
- Cleaning including closure cleaning;
- Sweeping, vacuum cleaning and mopping of floors;
- Emptying litter bins;
- Polishing and dusting/sanitising of surfaces and fixtures and fittings;
- Cleaning of changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities, including replenishment of paper towels, toilet rolls and other disposables;
- To notify line management or other Senior member of staff, of any damage to buildings and equipment or anything you see that may be dangerous to pupils or staff;
- To inform Site Supervisor of matters requiring attention e.g. light bulb replacement, blocked toilets etc;
- To inform Site Supervisor when there is low stock of cleaning materials and other disposables etc;
- Additional cleaning for one-off occasions i.e. Open Evenings, Visits etc.

Desirable Qualifications
- COSHH or any Heath and Safety Training
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working as a cleaner whether it be domestic or commercial
