A Warm Welcome to Class 7's Page! 🙂
Class 7 consists of ten wonderful children, who are taught by Christy and Kerry, and supported by Sophie, Wendy, Hannah and Lucy.
Autumn Term 1, 2024-2025
English- Poetry (rhyme, alliteration and onomatopoeia); phonics and SPaG daily
Communication- daily and regular practice, with access to specific resources needed for your child
Maths- Place Value and Position and Direction
Science- Animals inc Humans (please send in photos)
PSHE- we will be focusing on Self Awareness, learning about 'people who are special to us' and 'things we are good at', as well as any class issues that arise
Creative Curriculum- Wild Weather (French, Music, DT, Geography)
PE- Games
Computing- Music and sounds
RE- Christianity and festival foods
We will be having a daily Games Club session, based on Intensive Interaction principles, developing communication and socialisation, through scaffolded play.
Every day we will continue to work on individual PLP targets, through fun activities as well as workboxes (TEACCH). TEACCH | Autism Speaks
We will also be having weekly cooking and food desenstisation lessons, linked to our topics or a curriculum area, building resilience, independence and promoting healthy lifestyles. Autism and Food Aversion | Otsimo
We will continue to use the Zones of Regulation to develop co-regulation strategies, build your child's toolkit and also develop a deeper understanding of our emotions and feelings and how we can ask for help when we are having difficulties. We will use Sensory Circuits Sensory Circuits - Childrens Choice Therapy, movement breaks and have individual sensory diets for each child to access.
We will build Fine and Gross Motor skills up daily, through regular exercise and access to sensory development resources, in a fun and exciting way!

Please send in photographs of your family and any pets you have, to enrich our learning

PE- will take place on a Wednesday morning. Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school.

Please send in your child's favourite board games for Games Club sessions

Please send in at least one spare set of clothes and waterproof coat/wellies, so we are always prepared for whatever the weather brings

Please send in snacks, drinks and/or lunch daily. Please make sure you have ordered a school dinner (if your child has a hot school dinner)
